The Fitzwilliam Psychotherapy Centre logo – a Georgian fanlight – reflects the area where we are located, while it also signifies the purpose of these lights and the connection of that to the work of psychotherapy; we are about throwing light into often-darkened spaces. The fanlight provides an elegant reminder of times past, while it continues to be a practical feature and something that continues over time to inspire interest.
Fitzwilliam Psychotherapy in Fitzwilliam Place Dublin 2 set up the centre to bring together the work of psychotherapists in a comfortable environment and a convenient setting. We are aware that people often struggle to find sufficiently qualified and experienced psychotherapists as the profession of psychotherapy is not as yet fully regulated in Ireland.
All of our psychotherapists have completed full formal trainings in psychotherapy, meeting the highest national and international standards – those of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and the European Association for Psychotherapy. In addition to this, each of us has worked in other psychotherapy centres and/or public services elsewhere prior to setting up this centre, early in 2016.
Each has also been involved at a senior level in training psychotherapists. Our psychotherapists bring a shared commitment to ethical practice.
